Yale-NUS has adopted one of Yale’s most distinctive features: the Residential College System. In addition to being a student of Yale-NUS, you will be a member of one of three Residential Colleges. There you will have the kind of community Yale has fostered for almost a century—and which it adapted from Oxford and Cambridge. Far more than dormitories, Yale’s Residential Colleges knit together academic, intellectual, social, athletic, and artistic life. Each has its own character, its own dining hall, common room, student café, classrooms, and student activity spaces.
The Residential Colleges are a microcosm of Yale-NUS as a whole. In your Residential College and at Yale-NUS overall, you will build your independence and leadership skills as you and your peers pursue a rich student-directed co-curricular life of student government, clubs, organizations, arts, and athletics. On campus you will have frequent opportunities to interact with your professors, as well as with visiting speakers, artists, and international leaders.
