Deciding in Which Round to Apply
We will admit outstanding individuals in all three rounds and our general advice is that you should apply during the Round when you feel your application is as strong as it can be. Nonetheless, there are certain advantages to applying in either Round 1 or Round 2:
- If you are applying to other U.S. colleges and universities, you will receive a decision on your application before you have to respond to the other universities.
- For international students, applying in either Round 1 or 2 will give you sufficient time to complete the visa application process if you receive an offer from Yale-NUS and decide to attend. This is especially true with the July 2013 program in New Haven. International students who are offered admission in Round 3 will have very little time to apply for a visa for the program.
- With the small class sizes at Yale-NUS, we expect to have limited spaces for only the top handful of applicants in Round 3.
Each Round of Admissions is non-restrictive in that candidates can apply to Yale-NUS College and other colleges and universities simultaneously. Each Round of Admissions is also non-binding in that candidates who are admitted in Rounds 1 or 2 need not respond to the offer of admission until May 1, and may apply to other schools before that date.
